Command Sgt. Maj. Roberto Guadarrama is the regimental sergeant major of 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Arlington, Virginia. A native of Del Rio, Texas, Command Sgt. Maj. Guadarrama has been serving for 25 years as a career Infantryman. He has served as a Rifleman, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Senior Instructor, First Sergeant, Team NCOIC (TAFT 15), Battalion and Brigade Operations Sergeant Major, and Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major.
Prior to assuming responsibility of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Command Sgt. Maj. Guadarrama's previous duty assignments include the 165th Infantry Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina, 2-47th Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia, 3-362nd Armored Regiment, Fort Bliss, Texas; TAFT 15, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York; 2-10 Assault Helicopter Battalion (AHB) Pathfinder Company, Fort Drum, New York, 2-58th Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia; 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Command Sgt. Maj. Guadarrama's military and civilian education includes all NCO Professional Development Courses; BLC, ALC, SLC, MLC, and the Sergeants Major Academy Class 68, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Rappel Master Course, Light Fighter School, FRIES/ SPIES Master Course, Jungle Operations Training School, Land Navigation School, OPFOR Weapons School, Ranger School, Drill Sergeant School, Army Basic Instructors Course, Battle Staff Course, Mountain Leaders Advance Rifle Marksmanship, Dragon Trainer, Master Resiliency Course, Combat Life Savers Course, Combative School, and Maneuver/ TRADOC Command Course.
