COL Thomas Kilbride

3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard)

Col. Thomas J. Kilbride is the 85th regimental commander of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Military District of Washington, Washington, D.C. He is from Long Island, New York.

The son of a US Marine Corps officer, Thomas grew up around the military. Following in his family's footsteps, he earned a commission as an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 2002.

Throughout his 22 years of service, Col. Kilbride has led Soldiers at the Brigade to Platoon level in Airborne, Ranger, Light Infantry, and Special Operations units based in North Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, and Hawaii. He was also fortunate enough to have completed a tour in the Pentagon apart of the Office of the Secretary of Defense in support of advancing and accelerating Digital and Artificial Intelligence capabilities for the Department of Defense.

Col. Kilbride has deployed worldwide for various training events and exercises and has numerous combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of combat operations. He is a graduate from the US Army Ranger School, Jumpmaster, Combat Diver Qualification Course, and Air Assault courses. In his career, he has received a Defense Superior Service Medal, four Bronze Stars which includes one with a Valor Device, a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Master Rate Jumpmaster, Combat Diver Qualification badge, and numerous other service and achievement awards.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering and Economics from West Point, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Webster’s University and a Strategic Studies with a focus area in Irregular Warfare from National War College in Washington, D.C.

Col. Kilbride is married to Katie Kilbride. They have three children, two girls and one boy.
