SGM Eberhard "Eb" Nordman

Acting Command Sergeant Major

Sergeant Major Eberhard "Eb" Nordman is the acting command sergeant major for the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington (JTF-NCR/USMDW), Fort McNair, Washington, D.C. Sgt. Maj. Eberhard Nordman is a native of Hackettstown, New Jersey, and he enlisted in the active Army in 1999. He completed Internment/Resettlement (95C), now known as 31E, One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama, in May 1999.
 
His military assignments included the A/705th Military Police Battalion, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; 9th Military Police Company, Germany; HHC, 14th Military Police Brigade, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; 189th Military Police Company, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; 193rd Military Police Company, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; HHC/3-2 Striker Brigade Combat Team, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Human Resources Command, Ft. Knox, Kentucky; HHC, 525th Military Police Battalion, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Army Corrections Command, Arlington, Virginia; United States Army Correctional Activity-Korea, Camp Humphrey’s, South Korea.
 
Sgt. Maj. Nordman’s leadership positions include Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Training Developer, Observer Controller/Trainer, and Facility Sergeant Major. His civilian education consists of a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree, Associate of Criminal Justice degree from Purdue Global University, Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership, and the Sheriff’s Academy.
 
His military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Company Commander-First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, and Sergeants Majors Academy.
 
Sgt. Maj. Nordman’s awards and decorations include; the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Navy Achievement Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 CS), GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (4), Army Staff Identification Badge and recipient of the Order of Marechaussee (Bronze).
 
Sgt. Maj. Nordman married the former Dr. Michelle Wallace of Tampa, Florida, on January 29, 2000. They have resided in Dumfries, Virginia, since 2024 and have one daughter, Taylor (22).
