Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jonathan Billeck is the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor (SWOA) to the Battalion Commander for the 12th Aviation Battalion, The Army Aviation Brigade, Davison Army Airfield, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Billeck joined the Army in 2007, after completing Army Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following Basic Training, he attended Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Alabama (now Fort Novosel), pinning his coveted “dot” in April 2008 and finally his wings in December 2009.
After flight school, he was assigned to 4th Infantry Division (4ID), then located at Fort Hood, Texas (now Fort Cavazos), and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). After returning from OEF, he was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas, and served as a Pilot-in-Command with C/3-501st AHB and again deployed to Jalalabad, Afghanistan, with Task Force Dragon. Billeck then attended the UH-60 A/L Instructor Pilot Course and moved back to Fort Hood, Texas, assigned to the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. During this time, he deployed twice to Operation Atlantic Resolve and served as an Instructor Pilot and Medical Evacuation Pilot.
Billeck's next assignment was with the A/2-25 AHB at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. While in the A/2-25, he served as a Senior Instructor Pilot and Standardization Pilot. After his time in Hawaii, he was assigned to Fort Novosel as the Course Manager for the Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC). Billeck implemented a complete course redesign for WOBC and subsequently became the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor (SWOA), 1-145 Aviation Regiment (AVN REGT), 1st Aviation Brigade. As the SWOA, Billeck advised the 1-145 AVN REGT commander on issues related to the training and administration of all Initial Entry Rotary-Wing and Fixed-Wing training for the US Army. He also helped oversee education activities related to 14 Professional Military Education (PME) courses such as the Aviation Captain’s Career Course and the Aviation Warrant Officer Intermediate course. In total, the 1st Aviation Battalion is comprised of over 2,000 students and a 100-member cadre who manage the PME courses.
He is qualified in the UH-60 A/L/M and has accumulated over 2500 flight hours. He has completed the Aviation Warrant Officer Basic Course, the Warrant Officer Advanced Course, the Warrant Office Senior Course, the Instructor Pilot Course, and the Rotary-Wing Instrument Examiner’s Course. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal (with numerical 4 device), the Army Commendation Medal (with three oak clusters) and the Army Achievement Medal.
