Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin J. Miller is the command sergeant major of the U.S. Army Priority Air Transport (USAPAT) Battalion, which is stationed at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, and is part of The Army Aviation Brigade, headquartered at Davison Army Airfield, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Originally from Reno, Nevada, Miller entered the Army in August 2000 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, graduating as an Infantryman. He reclassified in March 2004 to a UH-60 helicopter maintainer. 

Throughout his career, Command Sgt. Maj. Miller has served in many leadership positions, including Team Leader, Recruiter, Platoon Sergeant, Observer Coach Trainer, and First Sergeant.

Miller's overseas assignments include Giebelstadt, Germany, Delta Company (DCO) 3-158 Assault Helicopter Battalion (AHB); Seoul Airbase, Korea, Headquarters and Headquarters Command Company (HHC), 2-2 AHB and DCO 2-2 AHB. His stateside assignments include: Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Charlie Company 3/325 Parachute Infantry Regiment; Fort Benning, Georgia, Flight Company 2/29 Infantry Training Support Battalion; Cleveland, Tennessee, Cleveland Recruiting Station; Fort Riley, Kansas, Alpha and Charlie Company 3-1 AHB; Fort Irwin, California, Eagle Team Operations Group; Fort Bliss, Texas, DCO 2-501st GSAB, 3rd ID; and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia, 3 CAB OPS SGM and SPO SGM.

Command Sgt. Maj. Miller's military education includes the Warriors Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Physical Readiness Leaders Course, Army Recruiter, Basic Airborne, 1SG Course, and The United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 73).

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Valorous Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (with Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), NATO Medal, Recruiter Badge (Gold), Combat Infantry Badge, (Master) Expert Infantry Badge, Combat Action Badge, Senior Air Crew Member Badge, Parachute Badge Basic, and the Driver Badge.

Command Sgt. Maj. Miller is married to the former Dana M. Walker of Florence, Mississippi, and they have 3 children.
