WASHINGTON –
The State Funeral for former President Jimmy Carter continues tomorrow.
The public is invited to pay their respects to the nation’s 39th president as he lies in state 7 a.m. tomorrow, January 8, 2025, to 7 a.m. on January 9, 2025, at the U.S. Capitol.
Groups of individuals representing the breadth of President Carter’s impact both during and after his presidency are scheduled to pay their respects throughout the day at the invitation of the Carter Family. The highlighted areas include diversity, education, Camp David and the Middle East, the U.S. Navy, energy, conservation, environmentalism, human rights, the Panama Canal and Latin America, African nations, China, The Carter Center, and Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, the military will maintain a guard of honor as the late president lies in state.
Lines may be long, and all individuals are subject to a security search. Please allow for ample time for security procedures.
