WASHINGTON, D.C. - Command Sgt. Maj. Veronica Knapp, senior enlisted leader of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, congratulates Staff Sgt. Stephen Hughes, a career counselor assigned to Fort Meade, on receiving the Retention Excellence Award at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., Feb. 20, 2024. The award recognizes Hughes's contribution to Fort Meade accomplishing their retention mission in all categories, resulting in a 168% retention rate.
