FORT BELVOIR, Va. - Ms. Andrea Varidakis-Broyles, a licensed veterinary technician with the American Red Cross and Army veteran, prepares the surgical site on Charlie, an 8-month-old goldendoodle, before an operation at the Fort Belvoir Veterinary Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, May 8, 2024. The surgery was part of the Veterinary Readiness Activity, Fort Belvoir’s annual training exercise.
